Below is the full breakdown — taxes, transfers and refunds — so there are no surprises at checkout.

Which CELPIP test do you need?
Choose CELPIP-General (CA$290) if you are applying for permanent residence through Express Entry or a Provincial Nominee Program, or for a professional designation — it tests all four skills. Choose CELPIP-General LS (CA$195) only if you need proof of English for Canadian citizenship, since it covers Listening and Speaking alone.
Taxes and the real total
The official fee is listed before tax. Sales tax — the 5% federal GST, or HST in provinces that use it — is added at checkout, so the final total depends on your province. On the CA$290 General fee that works out to about CA$304.50 where only the 5% GST applies, CA$327.70 in Ontario (13% HST), and up to CA$333.50 in the 15% HST provinces (New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island). Budget for the tax so the final amount is not a surprise.
Reschedule, transfer and refund rules
You can transfer your sitting to a new date, time or location from your CELPIP Account. Your first transfer is free; each additional transfer costs CA$50 plus tax, and any transfer must be made at least 7 days before your test date. If you cancel instead, Paragon’s policy gives a 50% refund when you cancel at least 7 calendar days before the test, and no refund if you cancel less than 7 days before. To avoid these costs, only book once you are confident in your date — see our step-by-step booking guide.
Results timing and optional services
Your results are posted in your CELPIP Account within 2–4 business days of your test, at no extra charge, as a downloadable PDF Official Score Report — hard-copy (paper) score reports have been discontinued, so everything is online. The main optional service that carries its own fee is a score re-evaluation (review) of one or more components, which you can request within six months: for Writing and Speaking the fee is refunded if your level goes up, while Listening and Reading are computer-rated and rarely change. Paragon sets the re-evaluation fee and shows it in your CELPIP Account, so check there for the current amount.
How to get the most for your fee
The CELPIP fee is the same whether you score CLB 6 or CLB 10 — so the best value comes from walking in fully prepared and avoiding a costly retake. Free practice goes a long way: work through our free CELPIP lessons, then check your target with the CLB calculator.
